About Me

Magnifying the quintessential science of leadership

I currently serve as the Director of Economics in the Department of Economics and Geosciences at the United States Air Force Academy. In this capacity, I lead a team of 22 faculty members, including 10 active duty military and 12 civilian economists, advancing the mission of providing world-class educational experiences for our developing leaders of the US Air and Space Forces. I also serve as the Dean of Faculty’s Lead Gift Funds Manager, working with 26 academic departments, the Center for Educational Innovation, Institute for Future Conflict, Martinson Honors Program, and other research & administrative offices, to document, prioritize, and manage funding for over 200 gift opportunities worth more than $100M.

I commissioned in the U.S. Air Force as a distinguished graduate from the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Utah State University in 2001. In addition to filling financial management assignments in Los Angeles, CA, Stuttgart, Germany, and with Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay, I served as the commander of the 436th Comptroller Squadron at Dover AFB, Delaware. I have served in multiple academic roles, including a previous tour as an economics instructor at the United States Air Force Academy, and earned accolades as the top instructor at Air University, in the Air Education and Training Command, and received the Secretary of the Air Force’s Financial Management Educator of the Year Award for my work at the United States Air University on Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama.
